Today is the day!!!! I'm so proud of all the Elm Street Eagles and the hard work they've put into this concert.

Music participation provides a unique opportunity for literacy preparation. Whether the children are listening, singing, or playing, they listen and hear in new ways which exercises their aural discrimination. Playing instruments and adding movement to the lessons teaches children about sequential learning which is essential in reading comprehension.

Student participation in music activities has a positive effect on everything from academic achievement to self-discipline.

Studies have found that through participation in school music programs students gain a sense of discipline, self-esteem, and pride of accomplishment, and they learn to excel in teamwork, problem solving, leadership, and both critical and creative thinking.
