It's hard to believe we are already at the end of September. Where did this month go? Everyone has settled back in to the routine. Primary and Elementary Choirs have started and are now closed to new members joining until January. Scarey to think we have already begun learning our songs for the Christmas Concert.
Grade sixes have a music project that is due in January that can be an individual or a group project. This will be about a musician, composer, performer, or band of their choice.
The project has two components to it: a written report and an oral presentation. The written report is due when they return after Christmas break. The oral presentation will be done in January. They will read their report to the class, show pictures if they have them, discuss what why they chose this person/band, and then play an example of their choice's music.
By now they should have decided whether they're doing an individual or group project and be in the process of shortlisting their choices.

Welcome Back!!!
Welcome back to all Elm Street students. We have a fabulous year ahead of us.
Choirs at Elm Street are in two terms-1st term is Sept-Dec and 2nd term is Jan.-May.We need to work as a team to encourage our students to have a sense of committment and responsibility to the groups they join.therefore students who join choir are encouraged to remain in choir for the full term. I ask for your assistance with this.
Students in K-Gr.2 can join the Elm Street Primary Choir which practices every Tuesday in the music room at 12:05.
Students in Gr.3-6 can join the Elm Street Elementary Choir which practices in the music room every Friday at 12:05.
Choir welcome letters will go home next week with each student who joins choir.
